One of the best restaurants in Clayton. Great spot for good food, drinks and amazing views!

For me a restaurant should provide excellent food, great service, and a comfortable atmosphere. I also want a restaurant to allow myself and my guests to enjoy ourselves without being overbearing and intruding. The Boat Yard at French Bay does this very well. The food was excellent. Very enjoyable appetizers, which were also original with our dinners being exceptional. I would highly recommend for a party of 4, out to enjoy a casual dinner on a warm summer's day.

Great spot for drinks! The beer and mixed cocktails are to die for. The menu leans a bit on the wild and fancy side, so it might not be the most family-friendly, but the quality is top-notch overall.

My wife and I rented one of the igloos for dinner and it was amazing. Such a unique experience. Inside was very cozy and warm despite it being about 15° outside. There was a Bluetooth speaker to stream our music. The server made sure we were well attended to. The food was delicious. We appreciated the complimentary bottle of champagne. Such a good time. We look forward to coming back!

The Peanut Butter and Jam Bliss Burger lived up to its reputation. This signature half-pound burger, made to order, features thick-cut bacon, cheddar cheese, haystack crispy onions, house-made jam spread, and a peanut butter-infused peanut sauce, all served on a toasted bun. The unique combination of sweet and savory flavors made for a memorable first bite. While the burger was juicy and slightly heavy for lunch, the crispy onions may have helped balance the richness. Pairing the meal with a whiskey sour, we found the drink slightly strong on alcohol but still enjoyable. The service was outstanding, with bartender Val providing excellent hospitality. Finding the restaurant requires a bit of navigation—after spotting the sign, drive around to the large black building. The entrance, marked by signage for the restaurant and bar, is located near the water. Overall, lunch was exceptional, and we look forward to exploring more of the menu. If you’re in Clayton, this spot is well worth the visit, whether for lunch or a dinner reservation with friends and family.

We are back in Clayton NY and discovered The Boat Yard. It opened this year and it's fantastic. Here's why: 🚤The food is excellent and consistently so, which is often an issue for this small riverside town. The special, a rosemary, apple pork chop, was done nicely with excellent flavor. The sea scallops were not overdone and served on a tasteful bed of sweet potato puree. The beet salad had a fantastic dressing, and the pat Thai had a light sauce with just a bit of a kick. 🚤The presentations on all dishes were visually beautiful. 🚤Vegetarians have some great options, which are really tough to find in this tourist hub. 🚤They have a nice selection of beers on tap--locals from around NYS and bottles, wine, and mixed drinks. 🚤The service staff, from bartenders to waitresses, were attentive and truly patient and helpful. I've eaten just about everywhere in this town, and this ranks number 1 with me this season. Stay tuned.

This has quickly become our favorite restaurant in Clayton! The craft cocktails and food are spectacular and the ambiance indoors and out is amazing. It is a perfect place to bring kids with the outdoor game area they’ve added. Pretty fun for adults too! We would very highly recommend this restaurant!

We stopped in for a late lunch last Sunday on our motorcycles after a benefit ride. I was amazed to find a place to eat after 2:00 in Clayton. The Boat Yard is very neat and clean inside and out. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The food was very good and delivered to our table in a timely manner. We found nothing negative about our experience. We highly recommend The Boat Yard. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Our party had 7 different dishes and all were excellent! Great atmosphere, great staff and beautiful sunsets.

Had a late lunch outside on the patio. I had the Buddha Bowl, very good. My husband had the Round Island sandwich. He liked that also. Kerri our server was excellent.

Awesome boat yard vibe. Live music was excellent. Shared the ahi tuna nacho bowl and we loved it!

The Boat Yard is a beautiful spot to dine or grab drinks. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The outdoor space with views of the River is the best in Clayton.
